MBB | Western faces front range foes on the road

GUNNISON, Colo. – Western Men's Basketball tips off against the Rangers of Regis University on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and the Cougars of Colorado Christian University Saturday at 5:00 p.m. The Mountaineers look to break their losing streak in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
 
Western (0-17 RMAC, 3-20 overall) is currently ranked 16th in the RMAC, Colorado Christian (4-13 RMAC, 6-17 overall) is only two spots ahead sitting in 14th place way behind second ranked Regis (13-4 RMAC, 16-7 overall).
 
The Mountaineers are currently ranked sixth in the RMAC in offensive rebounding and seventh in three point percentage with senior Brady Subart and freshman Cole Sienknecht leading the charge.
 
Subart is currently ranked first in the RMAC in three point percentage having made 57 of 132 attempts giving him an average of 43.2 percent. Sienknecht is closely behind ranked second in the RMAC with 42.9 percent, having made 60 of 140 attempts.
 
Subart also leads the Mountaineers in in scoring with 331 points on the season, averaging 15 per game.
 
Jackson Ehrlin is the leading rebounder for Western with 149 rebounds on the season, averaging 6.5 each game. Ehrlin will have a difficult challenge against RMAC fifth ranked rebounder Ryan Beisty of Regis.
 
Western's leading scorer last game was Monroe Porter who is also the Mountaineers best free throw shooter, shooting 80.5 percent from the line.
 
The Western defense will have their hands full this weekend against CCU and Regis University. Regis is ranked third in the RMAC for offensive rebounding and has fifth ranked scorer Jarrett Brodbeck who has been averaging 18.3 points per game.
