COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- The Western Colorado men's basketball team fell to University of Colorado Colorado Springs 69-50 on Saturday at Gallogy Events Center.

The Mountaineers (3-5 overall, 0-2 RMAC) were within striking distance still when Cole Sienknecht drained a 3-pointer at the 15:52 mark in the second half to make it 40-32 Mountain Lions (5-2, 2-1).

But WCU went cold while UCCS went on a 21-0 run over the next 8:08 before an Avery Rembao free throw ended the drought at the 7:44 mark in the second half to make it 61-33. The Mountainer kept fighting and closed the game on an 18-8 run to make the final deficit 19 points.

Sienknecht led WCU with 13 points and eight rebounds while Rembao had 10 points and four rebounds in 16 minutes of action.
