DURANGO, Colo. --- The Western Colorado women's soccer team saw its two-game win streak come to an end with a 2-0 loss at Fort Lewis on Friday afternoon at Dirks Field.
The Mountaineers (2-11-1 overall, 2-8-1 RMAC) fell behind the Skyhawks (4-6-3, 3-4-3) 1-0 just before the end of the first half in the 44th minute as Fort Lewis' Madyson Barela scored on an assist by Diana Sifuentes.Â
FLC made it 2-0 in the 61st minute on a goal by Ashley Strader.
WCU was outshot 10-3, including 6-3 on shots on goal.
Andrea Grillo led the Mountaineers with two shots - both on goal - while
Casey Elnicki had the other shot on goal. WCU keeper
Kaeyla Noble picked up four saves in the loss.
The Mountaineers return to action 11 a.m. Sunday as they take on Adams State in Alamosa.
