GUNNISON, Colo. – Western Colorado University Women's Soccer embarks on a two-match road trip this weekend. The Mountaineers will face the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on Friday night before facing the 11
th-ranked Metro State University Denver Roadrunners on Sunday.

The Mountaineers face UCCS at 6 p.m. on Friday in Colorado Springs, while Metro State hosts Western at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Western (1-5, 1-1 RMAC) earned their first win of the season last Sunday against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference opponent Colorado Christian University. The Mountaineers defeated the Cougars 2-1 at home.

Goalkeeper
Emilie Eckhart is averaging a conference-high 6.5 saves per game for Western. Eckhart also leads the RMAC in total saves with 39.

Ingrid Alvarez enters the weekend one shot away from tying Samantha Braun (2013-15) for the second most shots in school history. Braun recorded 80 shots during her career.

Against UCCS, Western is 2-7 all-time, with both wins coming on the road. In Colorado Springs, the Mountaineers hold a 2-3 record. The last Western win against the Mountain Lions came in Colorado Springs on Sept. 23, 2015. The Mountaineers won the match 1-0 against a then 20
th-ranked UCCS squad.

th in the national polls. Western is 1-1 against the Roadrunners when they are ranked, defeating the then 22

UCCS (4-1-1, 2-0 RMAC) enters the weekend receiving votes in the national coaches' poll. The Mountain Lions are on a three-match win streak, having defeated then 23
rd-ranked CSU-Pueblo 3-0, and New Mexico Highlands University 8-0 last weekend.

UCCS' Tori Maydew is the conference's second leading scorer with five goals. As a team, the Mountain Lions average 2.833 goals per match, which ties for the conference lead.

th in Division II. The Roadrunners also defeated CSU-Pueblo (2-0) and NMHU (4-0) last weekend at home.
