GUNNISON, Colo. – Four Western State Colorado University men's basketball student-athletes will play their final game in Paul Wright Gym on Saturday. However, the Mountaineers will first host Fort Lewis College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night as a part of Play4Kay Pink Night. Senior Night will then be against Adams State University starting at 7 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.

This weekend will be Western's final home games of the season. Western (9-14, 7-10 RMAC) is 7-4 on the Paul Wright Gym court and the Mountaineer have won five of their last six home contests.

The Mountaineers enter the weekend having dropped their last two games. With five games left in the regular season, Western is 2.5 games out of the eighth and final conference tournament spot.

On Friday, 14
th ranked FLC (19-3, 15-2 RMAC) comes to town. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference leaders have won their last six straight games and have a one game lead at the top of the conference standings.

Friday night will also be Play4Kay Pink Night. There will be free cotton candy at the game for all students and fans. Also, Western women's and men's basketball will be auctioning special pink warm-up shirts. Don't miss the chance to bid on your favorite player and support the Kay Yow Cancer Foundation in the process.

The Play 4 Kay event is a national campaign of the Kay Yow Cancer Foundation which honors the legacy of former women's collegiate basketball coaching great, Kay Yow, by seeking to raise awareness in regard to cancer and women's health issues through the Play 4 Kay campaign.

The Mountaineer and Skyhawk offenses rank top in the RMAC. Western ranks second, averaging 82 points per game, while FLC is ranked first, averaging 87.4 points per game.

Leading the Mountaineers' offensive charge is
Ben Beauchamp. Beauchamp is averaging 16.8 points per game, while also leading the team in steals, assists and free throws made and attempted.

Rasmus Bach is the leading scorer for the Skyhawks. Bach is averaging 14.6 points per game.

On Saturday, prior to the start of the 7 p.m. game against ASU (13-10, 11-6 RMAC), Western will honor four seniors playing their final game at home.

Collin Smith will all be honored for their contributions representing Western.

ASU enters the weekend tied for fifth in the conference standings, having won three straight. The Grizzlies will face Colorado Mesa University on Friday night prior to Saturday's game in Gunnison.

Adams State's offense is just behind the Skyhawks' and Mountaineers'. The Grizzlies are averaging 81.9 points per game, which ranks third best in the conference.

Brandon Sly and Shane Johnson lead the scoring attack for ASU. Sly is averaging 18 points per game, while Johnson scores 17.5 points per game.
