PUEBLO, Colo. – The 2017-18 season came to an end Saturday night for Western State Colorado University women's basketball. The Mountaineers fell to the Colorado State University – Pueblo Thunderwolves 48-75.
Western finished the season with an overall record of 9-19 and a record of 6-16 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Facing the conference's top-ranked team, the Mountaineers'
Samantha Coleman and
Katie Dalton each scored in double figures. Coleman led the team with 12 points, while Dalton notched 11.
It was the fourth game in the last five that Coleman has scored in double figures, and the third in the last four for Dalton.
Western kept CSU-Pueblo (22-6, 20-2 RMAC) from making big runs in the first half and trailed by only nine points at the 3:49 mark of the second quarter.
At halftime, the Mountaineers trailed 40-25.
Chandler Sturms grabbed a team high eight rebounds for Western.
CSU-Pueblo's Tuileisu Anderson led all players with 19 points.
