GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State Colorado University women's basketball sent their seniors out in style on Saturday night. In a route of rival Adams State University, Western had 24 assists on 28 made baskets to take a 81-60 win.

On the night, Western (8-17, 5-14 RMAC) had three women score over 14 points leading the Mountaineers to a season high 81 points. Combined, Western shot 54.9% from the floor for the game with a deadly 64% clip in the second half.

While the Mountaineers tallied 38 points in the paint, they also shot 53.3% from three-point. Western's inside-outside presence was facilitated by excellent ball movement, taking extra passes for open looks and subsequent baskets. Western's 24 assists was a season high.
Jessie Erickson and
Alicia Jimenez led the Mountaineers with five assists a piece – including a sizzling no-look pass from Jimenez in the third quarter.

Western's balance and ball movement was simply too much for Adams State (5-16, 3-16 RMAC).

Katie Dalton led all scorers and finished just shy of her career high with 20 points.
Samantha Coleman dropped a career high 16 points while going 4-5 from behind the arc.
Carra Jackson-Brown had a breakout game in her last home game, netting a season best 14 points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Starting on Senior Night,
Katelynn Martinez got Western out to a fast start nailing two deep three-point baskets in the first 2:30 of play. Martinez capped her Senior Day campaign with six points, three assists, and one steal.

Western went into the locker room at halftime with a 10 point lead. They would never look back from there.

In the third, the Mountaineers put their foot on the gas, stretching the lead to 20 on a Coleman three-pointer assisted by Jimenez with 1:29 remaining. At the end of the third, Western led 58-38.

Western led by as many as 25 when Jackson-Brown drilled a three-ball from the corner. Following that basket, the Grizzlies would never get within 18 points as Western rolled to 21 point victory.
