GUNNISON, Colo. – Western Colorado University embarks on a post-Thanksgiving Day tournament at the Colorado Mesa University Holiday Inn – Airport Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday in Grand Junction, Colorado.
After winning their first game of the season against then fourth-ranked West Texas A&M University, Western (1-3, 0-0 RMAC) have lost their last three. The Mountaineers will have an opportunity for two wins this weekend against Fisher College (3-4, 0-1 NIAC) and Graceland University (6-0, 2-0 HAAC).
Both games start at 2 p.m. in Brownson Arena.
Quincy Harding is leading the Mountaineers in scoring, averaging 23.7 points in three games played this season.
Jaire Roberts has been just as productive, averaging 17.3 points per game.
Harding's 23.7 points per game leads the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
Fisher, based out of Massachusetts, have lost three of their last four, including an 82-78 loss in their most recent game to Vermont Tech.
Brandon Rembert leads the Falcons' offense, averaging 16.3 points scored per game.
Graceland, in Lamoni, Iowa has yet to lose in six contests played this season. The Yellowjackets are receiving votes in the NAIA Coaches' Poll.
Alec Pena leads Graceland in scoring, averaging 16.5 points per game.
These will be the final two regular season games before the Mountaineers begin conference play on Dec. 1.
