GUNNISON, Colo. - Western Colorado University Volleyball ended the 2018 season on Friday night. The Mountaineers honored their three seniors,
Cammi Baumann,
Kathleen Kasel and
Kelsey Ubben, playing their final collegiate career match.
Western (2-24, 1-17 RMAC) was unable to end the season with a win, falling to Colorado Mesa University (20-6, 15-3 RMAC) in three sets (11-25, 16-25, 16-25).
After falling in the first set 25-11, the Mountaineers led the Mavericks 9-7 in set two. However, CMU would pull away and take the second set 25-16.
Much like the first set, Western got out to an early 6-5 lead over the Mavericks, but CMU would take control and win the third set 25-16, earning a 3-0 win.
Chelsea Bostwick led the Mountaineers in kills, recording 10 against CMU.
