FB | Thunderwolves spoil Senior Day

GUNNISON, Colo. – Western Colorado University Football's 2018 season came to a close on Saturday in Mountaineer Bowl. The Mountaineers fell 41-3 against 10th-ranked Colorado State University – Pueblo on Senior Day.
 
Western (2-9, 2-8 RMAC) kept CSU-Pueblo (10-1, 9-1 RMAC) at bay for as long as possible, but the Thunderwolves took a 14-0 lead through the first quarter.
 
The Mountaineers answered on their first possession of the second quarter with a 30-yard field goal from Chandler Davis. It would be Western's only score of the game.
 
Western ended the season tied for ninth in the RMAC standings.
 
Defensive lineman Mark Zavala recorded three tackles against CSU-Pueblo and ended the season with 7.5 sacks, which ranks 10th best in a single season at Western.
 
Isaac Fuqua led the Mountaineers in rushing with 51 yards. Fuqua totaled 924 yards on the ground in 2018, averaging 102.67 rushing yards per game.
 
Robert Garlock led all players with 10 tackles on Saturday.
