WSOC | Eckhart saves nine against Griffins

SALT LAKE CITY – One match remains in the regular season for Western Colorado University following Thursday's match against Westminster College. The Mountaineers fell to the Griffins 1-0 on the road.
 
Western (4-11-1, 4-7-1 RMAC) faces Dixie State University on Saturday to end the season. The Mountaineers are currently tied with Fort Lewis College for tenth place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings.
 
The top eight teams make the RMAC postseason tournament.
 
In order to make the tournament, Western will need a win against Dixie State. The Mountaineers will also need a losses from Colorado Mesa University on Thursday night and Saturday, and a loss from Colorado Christian University on Saturday.
 
The Mountaineers will also need Fort Lewis to not win on Saturday. The Skyhawks can draw to keep Western's tournament hopes alive.
 
On Thursday against Westminster, goalkeeper Emilie Eckhart recorded nine saves, facing 22 shots by the Griffin offense.
