GUNNISON, Colo. – The home winning streak is now at four games for Western State Colorado University men's basketball. The Mountaineers routed South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, 87-75 on Friday night in Paul Wright Gym.

Western (8-12, 6-8 RMAC) had five players score in double figures against SDSMT (6-13, 3-11 RMAC). Four Mountaineers scored 15 or more points and were led by
Brady Subart's 19.

Subart was also one rebound shy of a double-double, grabbing a game-high nine rebounds. The junior guard was 6-of-9 (66.7 percent) from the field, was a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line and dished five assists.

The only moment Western's victory was threatened by the Hardrockers came early in the second half. SDSMT took their first lead of the game with 15:19 left to play. However, the Mountaineers quickly erased that lead and were up by 15 with 5:48 remaining.

Both teams shot over 50 percent from the field, with the Mountaineers making 32-of-59 (54.2 percent) field goal attempts and SDSMT making 28-of-54 (51.9 percent).

Collin Smith added 16 points for the Mountaineers, making three three-point field goals. Teammates
Ben Beauchamp and
Quincy Harding each scored 15 points, while freshman
Jake Wilcox added 12.

Logan Elers led the Hardrockers' scoring attack with 18 points.

Western will try and keep their home winning streak alive on Saturday night against Black Hills State University. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.
