GUNNISON, Colo. – It was a dominant performance from start to finish for the Western State Colorado University men's basketball team on Friday night. The Mountaineers made 15 three-pointers to defeat Colorado Christian University 86-72 at home.
 
After going down 2-1 27 seconds into Friday's game, Western (6-10, 4-6 RMAC) took the lead at the 18:49 mark and never looked back.
 
Less than five minutes into the game against CCU (3-12, 2-7 RMAC) Western had a double-digit lead. The Cougars never got closer than 10 points for the rest of the game.
 
The sharp-shooting Mountaineers shot 46.9 percent (15-of-32) from beyond the arc, making 15 three-pointers. It's the second time this season the Mountaineers have made 15 three-point field goals in a game.
 
Six different Mountaineers made three-pointers on their home court Friday night. However, no one scored more three-pointers and more total points than 
Quincy Harding. The junior scored 25 points, making 5-of-7 three-pointers. It's the second time in three games Harding has scored 20 or more points.
 
Three other Western players scored in double figures. 
Brady Subart scored 17 points, while teammates 
Collin Smith added 16 and 
Ben Beauchamp scored 14. Smith made four three-pointers while also grabbing seven rebounds.
 
Monroe Porter recorded a game-high 11 rebounds and a game-high five assists.
 
The Mountaineers will try for their third straight win on Saturday night against No. 22 Colorado School of Mines at 7 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.
