DURANGO, Colo. – Western State Colorado University women's basketball was unable to mount a comeback in their second-to-last road game of the regular season on Friday night. The Mountaineers fell to Fort Lewis College 67-36.

Western (5-17, 4-14 RMAC) fought FLC (17-6, 12-6) tough in the first quarter. Heading into the second quarter, the Mountaineers trailed by just three points, 16-13.

The second quarter was all Skyhawks as they put distance between themselves and the Mountaineers. At halftime, Western trailed 35-19.

The Mountaineers held FLC to just 10 points in the third quarter, but were unable to pull within striking distance.

Western outrebounded FLC 43-35 and grabbed 19 offensive rebounds. Forward
Katie Najvar nabbed 12 of those rebounds, including six on the offensive glass. Najvar also scored seven points, just three shy of recording a double-double.

Brianna Wilber led the Mountaineers in scoring with 12 points in 32 minutes.

Briana Clah paced FLC with 19 points, shooting 70 percent (7-of-10) from the field.

Western will face Adams State University on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m. for their final road game of the season.
