GREELEY, Colo. – Western State Colorado University led Division I opponent, University of Northern Colorado for 19:09 on Sunday. However, UNC had the lead at the end of the game, defeating Western in an exhibition game for the Mountaineers, 87-75.

After UNC started the game with a 4-2 lead, Western went on a 16-2 run to take an 18-4 lead at the 14:06 mark of the first half. The Mountaineers continued to drain shots and were ahead 43-39 at halftime.

To open the second half, the Bears went on a 14-3 run and gained control of the game with a 53-46 lead. UNC would then pull away for an 87-75 victory.

Michael Hill led the Mountaineers in scoring with 16 points.
Quincy Harding and
Ben Beauchamp also added 15 points each.

Western will have another exhibition game on Monday. The Mountaineers will face the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado at 7 p.m. in Clune Arena.
