GUNNISON – Western State Colorado University men's basketball team looks to move up the conference standings this weekend with games against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and MSU-Denver. The Mountaineers will rematch the Mountain Lions Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Paul Wright Gymnasium, then look to take down the Rangers Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Mountaineers (4-11, 3-8 RMAC) are currently 12
th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, but can quickly jump back into contention with a pair of wins this weekend. MSU-Denver (10-6, 6-4 RMAC) sit tied for sixth in the conference, while UCCS (6-10, 5-6 RMAC) are ninth.

For the Mountaineers,
Ben Beauchamp will look to continue his extraordinary home play. In conference games at home, Beauchamp has averaged more than 26 points per game, shooting 55 percent from the field and nearly 51 percent from beyond the arc. He also averages six boards and three assists per game. The two home weekends that Western has had have also turned into two RMAC Offensive Player of the Week awards for Beauchamp, as he put up 59 and 50 points in the two weekends, respectfully.

Beauchamp's home play is contagious for the team as well, as Western is averaging 11 more points per game at home, three more steals, seven more assists and nine more boards. Western is also shooting five percent better from beyond the arc at home and four percent better from the field.

Another main source of offense has come lately from
Brady Subart. The sophomore has put up 76 points in the past four games for a 19 points per game average. He has shot greater than .500 from the field in 10 games this season and has a .571 shooting percentage in the four game stretch, including 55 percent from 3-point land.

Other scorers for Western to watch include
Will Duggan and
Collin Smith. The duo average nearly 12 points per game for Western. Duggan also leads the team with 63 assists.
