BILLINGS, Mont. – Western State Colorado University women's soccer suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday against San Francisco State University. The Mountaineers fell 2-0 to the Gators.

Western (2-1-1, 0-0 RMAC) fell behind 1-0 to SFSU (2-1-1, 0-0 CCAA) in the 30
th minute after a goal by Natasha Gosiaco. It was the first goal allowed by the Mountaineers in 2016.

The Gators added another just before half in the 43
rd minute. Kimber Lohman scored this goal after a through ball slipped through the Western defense.

After a challenging first half, the Mountaineer offense came alive in the second, putting together seven shots.

Ingrid Alvarez (So., Aurora, Colorado) had the best scoring opportunity of the match for Western. Alvarez's shot from 20-yards out around the 70
th minute beat the keeper but rattled of the cross bar.

The Mountaineers will return home for their final non-conference match of the season on Friday. Western will host Angelo State University at 3 p.m. on Gateway Field.
