GUNNISON, Colo. – Four matches remain in the 2016 regular season for Western State Colorado University women's soccer. This weekend, the Mountaineers will travel to Denver, Colo. for the final two road matches of the season.

Western (5-6-2, 3-4-1 RMAC) will face Regis University (5-7-2, 5-3-1 RMAC) on Friday before traveling across town to Metro State University Denver (5-4-4, 4-3-2 RMAC) for a Sunday showdown. The match against Regis will start at 3:30 p.m., while Sunday's match against Metro State begins at noon.

The Mountaineers will be in search of the first program victory over Regis. The Mountaineers are winless in four attempts playing the Rangers.

Against the Roadrunners, Western has a 1-4-1 record. The Mountaineers won the last matchup, 1-0, in Gunnison. Metro State was ranked 22
nd in the nation at the time.

As of 2016, eight teams will make the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference playoffs. Currently, Western is sitting in ninth place, two points behind Adams State University in the final playoff position.

The Mountaineers are coming off a thrilling upset of the ranked No. 3 Colorado School of Mines last Sunday. Western defeated the Orediggers 3-2 in the 105
th minute of double overtime.

Andrea Grillo leads the Mountaineers in total points this season with eight. Grillo also leads the team in assists with two and is tied with
Jessica Kresl for the team lead in goals, with three.

With three matches remaining for the Rangers, Regis sits fifth in the conference, six points ahead of the Mountaineers. The Rangers are coming off a 3-2 loss to the Orediggers on Tuesday. It was only the second loss for Regis at home this season.

Tori Rinsem leads the Rangers in goals and total points. Her 16 season points ranks fourth best in the RMAC and her seven goals ties for third best in the conference.

Metro State also has three matches remaining. The Roadrunners are seventh in the RMAC standings, four points ahead of Western. Metro State is coming off a 6-1 victory over Black Hills State University on the road. The Roadrunners are unbeaten at home this season in six matches played (3-0-3).

Elise Boisnard leads the Roadrunners in points with 17, which also ranks third best in the RMAC. Reigna Banks is tied with Regis' Rinsem for the third most goals in the conference with seven.
