GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State Colorado University men's basketball team travel to New Mexico this weekend to take on Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foes New Mexico Highlands University and Western New Mexico University. The Mountaineers will battle the Cowboys of N.M. Highlands Friday evening at 7 p.m., then travel across the state for a 7:30 p.m. dual with Western N.M.

The Mountaineers (1-6, 0-1 RMAC) are led by senior shooter
Danny Hopkins. Hopkins is averaging more than 13 points per game and has made 92 percent of his shots from the foul line.

Ben Beauchamp and
Robert Romero are both averaging double-digit points as well. Beauchamp is averaging 10 points per game and is shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc. Romero is averaging 10 points per game and is leading the team with five boards per contest.

Also for Western, point guard
Will Duggan has dished out a team-high 32 assists, good for third in the conference. He has also had 10 steals. Duggan is averaging seven points per game.
