GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Western State Colorado University men's basketball team dropped a high scoring game to Webber International Saturday evening, 96-85 in Grand Junction. The Mountaineers open conference play next Saturday against CSU-Pueblo.

Five Mountaineers scored in double digits, led by senior Danny Hopkins' 21. Also for Western, James Thomas had 14, James Willis added 13, Robert Romero chipped in a dozen and CJ Schutt had 11.

The duo of Daniel Coffey and Sam Auguste combined for 67 points, led by Coffey's 38.

Defensively, Thomas had eight boards and Schutt add six.

Also for Western, Hopkins and Will Duggan had five assists each.
