WSOC | Skyhawks slip past Mountaineers

DURANGO, Colo. - For 87 minutes Western State Colorado University women's soccer and Fort Lewis College women's soccer played to a scoreless draw. It took until the 88th minute for the first goal of the match, but FLC broke through, scoring the game winner off a throw-in rebound.

Western (5-4-1, 2-4-0 RMAC) fell to FLC (6-2-1, 4-1-0 RMAC) 1-0 on the road. It's only the third road loss this season for the Mountaineers.

Scoring the game winner for the Skyhawks at the 87:25 mark was Ana Moran. The goal was Moran's first goal of the season.

Western outplayed FLC for much of the match. The Mountaineers finished ahead of the Skyhawks in nearly every category. Western outshot Fort Lewis 20-11 and 12-5 in shots on net.

Midfielder Elyza Montano (Sr., El Sobrante, California) led all players in shots with five and tied for most shots on net with two.
