GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Western State Colorado University women's basketball was unable to upset the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa University Saturday night in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Harlie Williams (So., Norwood, Colorado) scored 10 points but it wasn't enough as the Mountaineers fell 73-45.
Western (4-11, 3-8 RMAC) was kept alive in the first half by
Taylor Long (Fr., Moreno Valley, California). Long scored eight points in the first half, shooting 3-of-6 from the field.
CMU (12-3, 9-2 RMAC) was led in scoring by Erin Reichle who scored 25 points.
In the second half, Williams led the Mountaineers scoring charge, hitting 4-of-4 free throws and 2-of-3 free throws. All 10 points from Williams came in the second half.
The Mountaineers out-scored CMU 12-to-10 in the paint.
Western will continue the season next weekend when they host Regis University and Metro State University Denver.
