PUEBLO, Colo. - Western State Colorado University's
Stephanie Williams (RFr., Cerritos, California) scored 11 points as the Mountaineers were unable to defeat Montana State University - Billings Saturday. Western lost to MSU-Billings 95-57 in the final game of the Al Kaly Shrine Classic.
Western (0-2, 0-0 RMAC) was unable to keep pace with the fast paced Yellowjackets on Saturday. The Mountaineers trailed MSU-Billings (1-1, 0-0 GNAC) by 22 points after the end of the first half.
Williams scored a team high 11 points on 4-of-10 shooting from the field for Western. Teammates
Sydnie Lengyel (So., Tempe, Arizona) and
Taylor Long (Fr., Moreno Valley, California) each contributed nine points.
MSUB's Quinn Peoples led the game with 21 points.
Nine of Western's 11 players to appear in Saturday's game made it in the scoring column.
The Mountaineers will continue the season Monday in an exhibition game against the University of Wyoming.
