GUNNISON, Colo. - Nearly midway through the 2014 season, Western State Colorado University women's soccer has yet to lose a match. The Mountaineers will attempt to maintain their unbeaten record this weekend against Colorado Mesa University and New Mexico Highlands University. Both matches will be played on Gateway Field in Gunnison. Friday's match against Colorado Mesa will begin at 2 p.m., while Sunday's match against NMHU is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Western (5-0-3, 2-0-2 RMAC) sits in a tie for third place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings. The Mountaineers have earned eight points on the season and trail conference leader Colorado School of Mines by four points and are one point behind Regis University.

Francesca Rand (Fr., Huntington Beach, California) is tied for the most game winning goals in a season at Western with three. Rand's three game winning goals is tied for the top in the RMAC and ranks eighth nationally. Rand is also tied for the RMAC's top spot in goals scored with five so far this season, which ranks tied for first in the Western record book.

Meghan Jedrzejewski (Jr., Longmont, Colorado) is ranked first in the conference for her goals against average (.338) and save percentage (.936). Jedrzejewski ranks fifth overall in Division II with her save percentage of .936.
Friday, Western welcomes western slope rival Colorado Mesa (0-6-2, 0-3-1 RMAC). The Mavericks are still in search of their first win of the season and are coming off a 2-1 loss against Regis. Friday will be the fourth meeting between Western and CMU. The Mavericks have won 2-of-3 but the Mountaineers won the last meeting 3-1 at home.
On Sunday, NMHU (4-3-1, 1-2-1 RMAC) makes their way to Gunnison. The Cowgirls enter the weekend having lost 1-0 on the road against Metro State University Denver last Sunday. NMHU will host conference leading Colorado School of Mines on Friday before hitting the road. The Mountaineers have yet to defeat the Cowgirls in two previous meetings.
The Mountaineers are coming off a thrilling 2-1 victory over Adams State. The Mountaineers scored off a Rand corner as time expired in overtime, giving the Mountaineers their first win over ASU in program history.
