GUNNISON, Colo. - Western State Colorado University volleyball begins a three-match homestand starting Friday.  The Mountaineers host Fort Lewis College on Friday night and Colorado Mesa University on Saturday.  Both matches will begin at 7 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.

Western (0-10, 0-6 RMAC) is still in search of their first win of the season, despite giving some of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's top teams a run for their money.

The Mountaineers have got out to a fast start in the past six matches.  Western has won the first set in the last three of four matches. The last five of six sets won by the Mountaineers have all come in either the first or second set.

Fort Lewis (4-10, 1-5 RMAC) enter Friday's match two spots ahead of Western in the RMAC standings.  The Skyhawks are coming off an 0-3 loss at the hands of Colorado School of Mines last weekend.  FLC's Lindley Gallegos is one of the conference's top servers and is ranked second in service aces, having recorded 23 in 2014.

Saturday, western slope rival Colorado Mesa (11-3, 5-1 RMAC) will come to Gunnison.  The Mavericks are tied for second in the conference standings.  CMU has swept their last two opponents, Colorado Christian University and Colorado Mines, 3-0.  As a team, CMU ranks third in the RMAC rankings in assists and kills.  The Mavericks will face Colorado State University - Pueblo on Friday night, before making the trip to Western.

Western lost their previous match on the road against Regis University last weekend.

Libero Morgan Stansberry (Sr., Olate, Colorado) leads the Mountaineer defense and leads the RMAC in digs per set with 5.22.  Stansberry has a team high 188 digs in 2014.
