Coach Robby Case will begins his second season with the Mountaineers in the fall of 2018. Case's main duties will continue as Western's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Prior to arriving at Western, Case spent three years at the University of Minnesota Crookston. After being the special teams, academic and recruiting coordinator to go along with coaching responsibilities, Case was promoted to the UMC offensive coordinator in the spring of 2014.

During the 2015 season, Case, also the quarterbacks coach, implemented a scheme that allowed his quarterback to rank among the school’s all-time leaders in passing yards after just two full seasons. He also had a wide receiver set multiple school receiving records in just his third season.

Prior to his position at Crookston, Case was a graduate assistant and interim offensive line coach at New Mexico State University from 2012-2013. At NMSU, Case compiled scouting reports, helped break-down opponent game film, recruited the offensive line class of 2013 and conducted on field instructional drills among various other responsibilities.

From 2009-2010, Case worked at Sacramento State University, first as a graduate assistant coaching wide receivers. He was then named the tight ends coach in 2010 and led the position to its most productive offensive year in a decade.

Following his stint at Sacramento State, Case was hired as the assistant offensive line coach at University of California Davis.

Case also has experience in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, as he was the inside receivers coach at Chadron State College during 2008.

During the 2007 season, Case was a student assistant at Fresno State University. There he was assistant to the wide receivers and special teams coach.

Case has master’s degrees from California State University Sacramento and Chadron State. He graduated from Fresno State in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in recreation and leisure studies.
Case lives in Gunnison with his wife Bre and daughter.
