Dr. Gloria Beim, the “Olympic doc,” has been seeing patients in Gunnison Valley for more than 20 years. She began college at age 14, then quickly earned her medical degree before moving on to earn Orthopaedic credentials and completing Fellowship training at University of Pittsburgh. Board certified in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics, and Fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine/Knee/Shoulder/Arthroscopic Surgery, Dr. Beim founded Alpine Orthopaedics in 1999. She sees patients in her Gunnison, Crested Butte, and Telluride clinics, and performs surgery at both Gunnison Valley Health and her own ambulatory surgery center in Gunnison, CO.
 
Dr. Beim is Head NCAA Team Physician for Western and the only Official Medical Provider of the US Ski and Snowboard Team in Gunnison Valley. She has also been selected for many appointments by the United States Olympic Committee to care for the athletes of Team USA  – including the 2004 Olympics in Athens and the 2012 Olympics in London (Team Physician); and as Chief Medical Officer for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, and most recently, the 2018 Paralympics in Peyoung Chang.
