High School: Shea comes to Western from Ankeny High School where she was a four time varsity letter winner, along with being ranked top 24 in Iowa in the 100 back and 500 free. Yuran’s top finish at the Iowa state meet came in the 500 freestyle where she placed 13
th. When asked why she chose Western she said, “When I lived in Iowa I fell in love with the close knit swim team and wanted to find that in college as well. At Western it was apparent that this team is a family that I wanted to be a part of. From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt welcome and excited to be there. This made the decision to become a Mountaineer easy!”
