Susan Welsh begins her third year with the Mountaineer swimming and diving team for the 2021-22 season as the diving coach.
During the 2020-21 season, Welsh coached three different athletes to place in the top eight in the 1-meter dive at the RMAC Championships. Her top athlete also placed fifth in the 3-meter dive at the RMAC Championships.Â
In 2019-20, Welsh helped guide Mountaineer diver Sarah Mortenson to a seventh-place finish in the 3-meter dive and eighth place in the 1-meter dive at the RMAC Championships.
Welsh grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and attended University of Wyoming where she competed in diving. Welsh started coaching in 1985 at Laramie High School. In the fall of 2012 Susan was the interim coach at Western and has been coaching on the front range since.Â
