Jeremy Clevenger

Jeremy Clevenger is beginning his fourth season as the head women's soccer coach at Western State Colorado University in 2015 after being hired on Feb. 13, 2012 as the first women's soccer coach in school history.

In 2014, Clevenger guided the Mountaineers to a 6-7-5 record, the squad's best winning percentage (.472) in the program's third season. Western totaled nine shutouts on the season, six coming in league play, as the Mountaineers ranked in the top four in the league in shutouts, goals allowed (14) and goals against average (.071). Western also made several appearances in the national statistical rankings, coming in 21st in save percentage (.861), 38th in goals against average and 41st in shutout percentage (.500).

Clevenger guided junior defender Brianna Vega to become the first Mountaineer to earn RMAC First Team honors while also collecting National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Central Region Third Team accolades.

In his second season at the helm of the Mountaineer program, Clevenger increased the team's win total by five from the 2012 season with a 6-10-2 record and a 4-4-1 mark at Gateway Field. In 2013, the Mountaineers became a full member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

In their inaugural season, the Mountaineers faced one of the toughest schedules in all of the NCAA Division II, finishing the 2012 season with a record of 1-14.

Clevenger led the Mountaineer women's soccer program to their first-ever victory on Oct. 21, 2012 against Washburn University in Topeka, Kan. The Mountaineers won by a score of 2-1, coming back from a one goal first half deficit. Sadie Stark scored both goals less than seven minutes apart.

Clevenger was on the staff of the inaugural seasons for men's and women's soccer at Fort Hays State in 2011. The Tigers had two women earn All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association honors and two men earn a spot on the NSCAA All-Central Region First Team. He was responsible for startup of the programs, recruiting, travel and practice.

Clevenger came to Fort Hays State after serving as the head women's assistant coach for Houston Baptist in 2010. The Huskies were the Great West Conference champions and had four all-tournament selections during the conference championships. He was also the primary recruiting and travel coordinator and had responsibilities for practice and game coaching.

Clevenger was part of a staff at Baylor University in 2009, and helped lead the Bears to their first winning season since 2000. Baylor advanced to its first Big 12 Tournament since 2006 and was second in the conference for its goals against average.

Clevenger spent a season at Ottawa University as the head assistant coach for the men's and women's teams. The Braves had two women on the NAIA All-America team and finished as the runner-up in the conference tournament. He was the primary recruiting coordinator for both teams, monitored academic progress and was involved in alumni relations and fundraising.

Clevenger was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Central Missouri and was part of a staff that led the Jennies to a share of the MIAA title in 2007. The Jennies advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II National Tournament and were ranked as high as fifth in the nation.

A native of Stockton, California, Clevenger boasts a NSCAA Coaching Diploma and Regional Goalkeeper Diploma, and has a United States Soccer Federation Coaching License. He holds a B.S. degree in Kinesiology from San Francisco State University and a M.S. degree in Sports and Business Administration from Central Missouri.
