2012: Placed 9th with a time of 23:45 at the Mountaineer Open... Ran a time of 18:59 at the OSU Jamboree... at the RMAC meet ran a time of 23:54.1 placing 20th... Placed 23rd at the South Central Regional meet with a time of 23:06... Ran a time of 21:29.4 placing 45th at the NCAA Division II National meet

2011: Redshirted for the Mountaineers. Competed unattached at the Joe I. Vigil Open finishing with a time of 18:28.

2010:  Placed 15th running 19:33 at the CSU Invite...Ran 22:45(5.8k) at the Rocky Mountain Shootout...Placed 7th unattached at the Fort Hays Tiger Invitational in a time of 17:41...Placed 8th at the Mountaineer Open with a time of 19:46...

2009: Competed on the Mountaineers' NCAA DII Championship team.

Prep: Four-time letter winner in both cross country and track. Ortiz was also a three-time State Qualifier in cross country. Team MVP in cross country 2008.

Personal: The daughter of David and Annette Ortiz, she has three siblings Josh, Alexis, and Victoria. Known to her teammates as 'Cass Cass,' she enjoys baking.
