Bettenhausen, a certified USTFCCCA Technical Coach, joins the WSCU Track & Field program after one season as Volunteer Coach at University of Wisconsin-Madison.
In his brief tenure at UW, Bettenhausen helped coach throws for the Badgers and also worked extensively with the multi-event athletes. Bettenhausen’s athletes found much success under his tutelage, breaking eight University of Wisconsin school records between indoor and outdoor track.
Badger throwers also saw national success under Bettenhausen, as he guided five student-athletes to the NCAA Championships – coaching one to All-American status. Additionally, two of his athletes qualified for the 2012 USA Olympic Trials in Eugene, OR.
Prior to his time with UW, Bettenhausen implemented the throws program with the Wisconsin Track Club. In this role he gained valuable experience in the minutia of coaching and managing a successful program.
A graduate of UW-Madison with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Bettenhausen was a letter-winning thrower for the Badgers.
