Kyle Jenkins

Kyle Jenkins is the first esports manager and head coach at Western Colorado University, entering his third year with Western in 2021-22.

Jenkins guided the Mountaineers to a 5-7 record in League of Legends in his first season and a 5-8 record in Rocket League, which included wins over Kansas State, Kansas, Wichita State and Northern Colorado. The team also competed in Overwatch as well as defeating Adams State 6-1 in a Smash Brothers Ultimate matchup.

Jenkins came to Gunnison from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he recently graduated with a graduate degree in healthcare administration. He currently serves as the chief officer of operations for Insaniity Esports, a premier League of Legends and Call of Duty team based out of London, England. Jenkins manages various aspects of the team, including player development, event schedules, arranging transportation and organizational promotion. He is also responsible for player recruitment and regularly consults with team leadership in planning short-term and long-term organizational objectives.

As a player, Jenkins is currently in the top 10 percent of League of Legends players globally and has more than four years of competitive experience across multiple titles. He also serves as a League of Legends analyst for NEZEQ Esports which competes in a number of Israeli esports leagues. Jenkins also has experience in other game titles, such as Super Smash Bros. Melee, StarCraft, Hearthstone, DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch and Fortnite.

Jenkins will lead the development of esports at Western, along with overseeing video production on the video board at Mountaineer Bowl.
