2024: Selected to the USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Team … named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Honor Roll … placed 19th at the RMAC championship meet to earn second-team All-RMAC honor … was Western's fourth scoring runner at the NCAA Division II South Central Region championship, placing 26th … also the Mountaineers' fourth runner at the NCAA DII championship meet, finishing 92nd.
2023: Participated in Mountaineer Invite, Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival, RMAC Cross Country Championship, NCAA Division II South Central Regional Meet, NCAA Division II Championship Meet
2022: Posted season-best 8K time (25:20.8) at the Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede.
High School: Houdeshell comes to Western Colorado University from Pouder High School where he was a Conference and Regional Champion in cross country. He qualified for the state championships all four years and earned Male Athlete of the Year in 2020. In 2016 and 2017 he was apart of the Pouder High School teams that won the conference championship. John also earned Academic Honorable Mention in 2018 and 2019. He is the son of David and Joseph Houdeshell and brother to James and Joseph.
