2023: Ran to a career-best 6k at the NCAA DII championships with a time of 20:57.7 ... Ran a 5k career-best at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival with a time of 17:57.8 ... Participated in the Mountaineer Open (5th), RMAC XC Championships (33rd) and the NCAA D II South Central Regional Meet (40th)
2022: Placed 103rd at NCAA D-II Championship meet … registered career-best 6K time (21:50.4) at the NCAA D-II Pre-Nationals meet … best finish of season was 7th at the Gig Leadbetter Maverick Stampede.
High School: Slattum comes to Western Colorado University from Newbury Park High School where she ran cross country and track all four years. In 2019, she qualified for the state meet and won DII, then continued to nationals and placed 17th. Gretchen is the daughter of Heidi and Karl Slattum, and sister to Bjorn and Anja.
