Head Coach: Amy Bell

Bio
Bell is only the second coach to lead the Mountaineers since the program was established in 2012.

In her first season at the helm in 2016, Bell helped lead the Mountaineers to the program's first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament appearance. Bell coached Western to six victories during her first season, including a 3-2 double-overtime win against Colorado School of Mines, ranked third in the nation at the time.

During her time at Western, Bell has coached five players to all-conference honors and 11 to conference academic honors.

Bell came to Western with strong experience coaching at the NCAA Division II level. Bell was the head women's soccer coach at Division II Chowan University from 2012-2015. Her responsibilities entailed overseeing every aspect of the women's soccer program, including planning and implementing practice plans, in-game coaching, off-season and pre-season workouts, recruiting, budgeting, travel and fundraising. Bell also helped raise the team's GPA from an average of 2.0 to 3.4.

After leaving Chowan in 2015, Bell moved to Longmont, Colorado to become the Assistant Recreation Director with the St. Vrain Football Club and became a staff coach with the Colorado Olympic Development Program (ODP). At St. Vrain, Bell worked to expand the recreation program as well as run goalkeeper training sessions and goalkeeper academies. She also organized and oversaw the U4-U13 recreation league and travel recreation program.

With the Colorado ODP, Bell has helped with tryouts and recruiting of Olympic level players, as well as designing and implementing training sessions for goalkeepers.

Before becoming the head women's soccer coach at Chowan, Bell was the assistant men's and women's soccer coach at Chowan from 2011-12. During this time, she was responsible for planning and implementing practice plans for both programs, running weight lifting workouts for both programs and oversaw the women's program's budget and recruiting.

Prior to coaching at Chowan, Bell spent two and a half seasons as a graduate assistant soccer coach at Wheeling Jesuit University. In 2010, she helped guide the Lady Cardinals to a 10-10 overall record and 6-4 WVIAC record. Bell also coached FC Wheeling United, a U19 Girls Club team in Wheeling, West Virginia for three seasons.

A native of Colorado, Bell is a graduate of Shepherd University in West Virginia, where she was a four-year starter for the Rams. As a goalkeeper, Bell was a four-time All-Conference Team member, two-year team captain, and two-year team MVP.
