Media Policies:
Western Colorado University Sports Information will provide pre-game notes, cumulative statistics, media guides and game programs prior to each Mountaineer home game. Complete game statistics will be available approximately 10-20 minutes after the conclusion of each game.
The Western football press box and basketball press tables will house the media, as well as media relations personnel. Requests for credentials should be made through the Western Colorado Sports Information no later than 48 hours before each home game. Requests received less than 24 hours before the start of the event can not be guaranteed.
The Western Sports Information Office is located in Paul Wright Gym (219), near the entrance of the main athletic office complex. Contact Western Sports Information at (970) 943-2831.
Statistics, press releases, media guides and other Western Colorado materials may also be found on the official Western Colorado Athletics web site.
Credentials
Requests for press and broadcast space in the press box for all Western Colorado home games may be made in advance by contacting the Western Colorado Sports Information Office. Space will be given to accredited media personnel in accordance with NCAA guidelines:
-National press, newspaper sports reporters/writers from the immediate locale of the event and sports reporters/writers from the immediate locale of the competing teams.
-Radio station/network personnel doing play-by-play for the two competing schools. (Broadcast booth space will be assigned)
-Non play-by-play reporters
-Student newspapers and radio stations
Photographers must display proper credentials at all times and must remain within NCAA-designated photo areas. No media personnel, including journalists, radio and television personnel or their equipment, shall be in the team areas (coaching box for football, bench area for basketball and wrestling) or locker rooms.
Interviews
Each coach will be made available following the game for comments and a post-game interview. Selected Mountaineer players will also be available. No interviews will take place until the coach has had the opportunity to address the team and a 10-minute cooling off period has been allocated.
All other requests for player or coach interviews must be made through the Western Colorado Sports Information Office.
