COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  Colorado School of Mines holds the top spot in the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Women's Cross Country Preseason Coaches' Poll, as the league announced Thursday.

The RMAC also unveiled its 2026 Preseason All-RMAC Women's Cross Country Team, with 14 student-athletes earning recognition. As in previous seasons, the preseason team was determined by placing returning athletes in order of their finish at last year's RMAC Championship.

Western enters the 2026 season ranked No. 4 in the conference with 158 points.

The Mountaineers earned two spots on the Preseason All-RMAC Team, led by Peyton Weiss and Lauren Willson.

Weiss earned preseason All-RMAC recognition after placing 11th at the 2025 RMAC Championship. Willson also returns to the preseason team after earning Second Team All-RMAC honors last season.

With two returning All-RMAC performers leading the way, Western Colorado enters the 2026 season ranked among the conference's top teams as the Mountaineers look to build on a strong 2025 campaign.
