COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Western Colorado's
Rachel Cockman has been voted a first-team honoree on the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic women's basketball team, as announced by the league office Wednesday morning.
The athletics communications directors at each of the RMAC institutions nominate and vote on student-athletes for first-team consideration, each nominee required to register at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and to have completed two consecutive semesters at their current institution and have used a season of competition.
The league also recognized an academic honor roll, with the GPA requirement of 3.30 or above.
Nominated and earning honor roll recognition from the Mountaineers are
Alyssa Eckroth;
Darcy Jardine;
Natalie Jojola;
Jayda Maves;
Rachel Novak;
Ivey Schmidt; and
Brooklyn Seymour.
Cockman, on March 6, was named to the All-RMAC women's basketball first team, as voted on by the conference's coaches.
The team's rebounding leader, Cockman finished with a total of 213 rebounds for an average of 12.7 rebounds per game in the 2024-25 season.
She was the team's second-leading scorer, finishing the season with a 12.7 scoring average. During the season she passed the 1,000-point career plateau, finishing her career with a total of 1,199 points.
Cockman was a key player in Western's turnaround this season as the team completely flipped its 2023-24 record (7-20) to a 21-8 mark in 2024-25, ending the regular season in second place within the RMAC standings.
The Mountaineers earned, and won, a home, first-round RMAC tournament game, their season coming to a close in the semifinal round in a loss to the eventual tournament champion.
