WESTERN COLORADO HEADING INTO THE MATCH | 2025 Stats
  • The Mountaineers, 2-12-4 overall and 2-5-4 in RMAC action, are coming off an exciting win over visiting Colorado Christian, notching a 2-1 victory behind goals from Jordan Welsh.
  • Welsh scored in the 37th minute after Lauren Kindt sent a long through ball into the box where Sarah Connolly collected it and snapped a cross to Welsh who volleyed a shot back across and inside the right post for the first goal of the game.
  • CCU evened things up in the 56th minute, but Welsh came to the rescue in the 71st, one-timing a leading pass from Riley Richardson past the Cougar goalkeeper for what would be the game winner.
  • The goals were the first of the season for Welsh, who now stands tied with Caitlin Mazurek and Cianna Thomas with two goals each, trailing only scoring leader Natsuki Murakami's four goals.
  • Ashlyn Fitzpatrick has seen the most time in goal, 1,101 minutes, in frame for Western, posting a 2.37 goals-against average while accumulating 66 saves. Senior Aubree Orosco has also been on the line for the Mountaineers, getting 378 minutes between the pipes while registering a 2.85 goals-against average and totaling 21 saves.
  • The Skyhawks have historically had Western's number, compiling a 10-2-3 record against the Mountaineers. Western's wins came in the 2013 and 2017 seasons, and the most recent draw (1-1) was in the 2022 season.
FORT LEWIS HEADING INTO THE MATCH | 2025 Stats
  • The Skyhawks (10-4-2, 7-2-1) have been on a defensive tear, posting eight consecutive shutouts during a 7-0-1 stretch in which they've outscored opponents by a cumulative total of 19-0.
  • The shutout stretch comes after a four-match losing streak, however those losses were, at the time, against the Nos. 2, 9 and 13 teams with the fourth loss against a team that played into the third round of the 2024 NCAA tournament.
  • For the season FLC has notched 28 goals while surrendering just 6 and is outshooting opponents 264-162, including a 113-61 advantage in shots on goal.
  • Jenna Salazar's seven goals, with three game-winning markers, leads the Skyhawks with Anna Tucker just behind with six goals and three game-winners. Three other players have at least two goals.
  • Trinity Lujan has commanded the goal for FLC all season, registering a 0.39 goals against average while coming up with 52 saves, and earning 10 shutouts and 2 combined shutouts with teammate Lilliana Brinkmeier.
UP NEXT
  • Should the Mountaineers earn a spot in the RMAC tournament, they would play a first-round game on Fri., Nov. 7.
  • If they are the No. 7 seed, they would host the game at Katy O. Rady Field with a 3 p.m. start. Should they be the No. 8 seed, they would travel to the site of the No. 7 seed on Friday at a time to be announced.
