JUST THE FACTSÂ

Records: Western 5-4 overall (2-2 RMAC), Mines 9-2 (3-0)Â
Location: Steinhauer Fieldhouse, Golden, Colo.Â
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- The Orediggers broke in front, 4-0, with a major decision win at 125, but Devin Gomez ate into that deficit in his match at 133 pounds.Â
- Tied at 4-4 after the first period, Gomez gained control of the match in the second with a 7-1 period, then finished out the win, 13-9 to pull Western to within a point on the team scoreboard.Â
- A technical fall at 141 increased Mines' advantage to 9-3, but Dean Noble came to the rescue for Western at 149. Noble, ranked third in the country, led just 3-0 after the first, but it didn't take long in the second for him to exert his dominance, earning a pin just 33 seconds into the period and pulling Western even in the team scoring, 9-9.Â
- Cabral trailed 1-0 late in the third period of his 157 match, but scored a takedown with just 48 seconds remaining in the match then held on for a 4-1 decision and a 12-9 Western Colorado lead.Â
- Mines, though, wrestled to four consecutive decisions – including a wild 23-20 last second win at 197 – and added a second period fall at 285 to complete a rally and hand the Mountaineers the defeat.Â
