ORLANDO, Fla.  Mountaineer cheer, making its first appearance at the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) College Nationals, earned a 12th-place finish Saturday at the 2024 championship event hosted by Varsity Spirit at Walt Disney World.

Western Colorado, competing in the Open Small Coed division – which includes teams from NCAA Division II and III, NAIA, and community colleges – posted a morning semifinals score of 63.5 points, just 4.9 points from eighth place, the final spot that transferred into the evening's championship finals session.

The Mountaineers were the fifth-highest D-II school after the morning's performances.
