LAS VEGAS, N.M. It was nearly a shutout Friday evening at the John A. Wilson Complex as visiting Western Colorado rolled to a 39-6 victory over host New Mexico Highlands University in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference wrestling action.
The Mountaineers earned wins in the first nine weight classes before the Cowboys would get in the scorebook with a pin at 285.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fast. Cody Fatzinger earned a takedown followed by four separate near falls to finish off NMHU's Naythan Galbiso by a 16-0 technical fall in just 98 seconds in the opening match at 125.
- Zack Flowers battled into the third period against Isaac Garcia at 133. Fifty-three seconds into the final period, though, Flowers ended the drama with a pin to put Western up 11-0 in the team scoring.
- Dean Noble made it two falls in a row for the Mountaineers, taking care of business at 141 with a pin five seconds before the end of the opening period.
- Jason Hanenenberg at 149 and Ryan Wilson at 157 each earned decisions to pad the Western advantage, then Hunter Mullin added a first-period fall at 165 to make it 29-0.
- Jimmy LaConte at 174 and Cole Gray at 184 both won decisions, LaConte recording a 10-4 win and Wilson adding a 9-2 decision.
- Porter Fox tacked on a major decision at 197 for Western's final points, with the Cowboys finally picking up points at 285.
