PUEBLO, Colo. CSU Pueblo took the lead on a 19-2 run in the second quarter and never let up, which propelled them to a 63-49 victory over Western Colorado on Friday (Feb. 18) night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountaineers were on fire to start the game, knocking down four straight three points – Samantha Coleman knocking down three and Emmery Wagstaff knocking down one – leading to Western taking a 14-4 lead. The Thunderwolves started to get things going after that trimming the lead to 22-14 before the quarter ended.
- In the second quarter the Mountaineers grew their lead to nine-points, on a Ky Buell jumper and Rachel Cockman and-one basket. However, Western offense got cold fast opening the door for CSU Pueblo to take over the game. Which they did resulting in the Thunderwolves holding a 37-29 lead at halftime.
- The Mountaineers offense remained cold in the third quarter, only scoring four-points, as CSU Pueblo went into the fourth quarter up 53-33.
- Western woke up in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Thunderwolves 16-10 – Wagstaff was the leading scorer in the quarter with five-points, followed by Natalie Jojola and Cockman who each scored four-points.
- Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time left in the game for the Mountaineers to mount a comeback, as they fell 63-49.
COURT NOTES
- Samantha Coleman and Cockman were the leading scorers in the game for Western each scoring nine-points. Wagstaff and Anda Kuzmina were the next highest scorers each pitching in with eight-points.
- The Mountaineers shot 47.4 percent (18-38) from the field, 46.2 percent (6-13) from three and 58.3 percent (7-12) from the free throw line.
- Amaya Lewis was the leading scorer for the Thunderwolves off the bench, scoring 20-points. Alisha Davis was a huge factor in the game for CSU Pueblo, scoring 16-points, while also recording seven steals and five blocks in the game.
- The Thunderwolves shot 45.3 percent (29-64) from the field, 20 percent (4-20) from three, and 25 percent (1-4) from the free throw line.
