GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Western Colorado got out wrestled on Thursday Dec. 9, in Brownson Arena resulting in them falling to Colorado Mesa University 33-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Colorado Mesa got off to a strong start winning the 125, 133 and 141-pound weight class match to take a 12-0 lead in the dual.
- While the momentum was on the Mavericks side, Jason Hanenberg (149) got the Mountaineers on the board earning a 4-2 decision victory over Nick Gallegos, cutting the lead to 12-3. With the win Hanenberg improves his record to 8-0.
- After losing the 157-pound match, Hunter Mullin (165) scored the final points for Western picking up a hard fought 6-4 decision victory over Alexander Holguin.
- Colorado Mesa went on to win the next four matches at the 174, 184, 197 and 285-pound weight class, leading to them earning the second largest margin of victory in the history of the matchup.
- The largest margin of victory came in 2009, when the Mountaineers defeated the Mavericks 32-3 in Brownson Arena.
- This won't be the last time Western will see the Mavericks, as they will travel to Gunnison on Friday, Feb. 11, for a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup.
