CLEVELAND The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) on Thursday released the final fall-sport standings of the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup, a listing that shows Western Colorado University at No. 20 in the NCAA Division II rankings with 166 points.
The Mountaineers claimed 72 points from a seventh-place finish by men's cross country at the NCAA D-II championship meet, 69 points from women's cross country's ninth-place finish at nationals, and 25 points from football's final national ranking of No. 17.
Four institutions from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference earned top-20 points in the fall listing, led by No. 1 Colorado School of Mines (373 pts.). At No. 7 is University of Colorado Colorado Springs (211), while Adams State University (190) came in at No. 11.
In the most recent full academic-year standings of the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup -- 2018-19 -- Western Colorado concluded the year at No. 23 with 481.25 points.
