GOLDEN, Colo. --- The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships took place on Saturday morning as the Mountaineer men's finished fourth overall and the women's team placed fifth overall.
 
The men's team scored 118 points to place fourth, as Colorado School of Mines claimed the RMAC title with a score of 28 points. Finishing ahead of the Mountaineer men with 84 total points was UCCS to take third and Adams State took second with 47 points.
 
On the women's side, Adams State came away with a dominate victory as they placed all five athlete's in the top 13, earing 40 points as a team. Finishing between the Mountaineers women (150 points) and Grizzlies was CSU Pueblo in fourth (142 points), UCCS in third (90 points) and Colorado Mines in second (71 points).  
 
Leading the women's team and earing the highest finishing spot of any Mountaineer in the competition was Western Colorado's Katie Doucette as she came across the line in third place, finishing in 21:51.2 on the 6-kilometer course.
 
Leading the men's team to a fourth place finish was senior Cade Michael as he was the first Mountaineer to cross the line. Michael finished tenth overall, finishing the 8-kilometer course in 25:19.2.

The Western Colorado cross country team will compete next at the Regional Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Lubbock, Texas.
