GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado wrestling team looks to bounce back from its first loss in RMAC dual action as the Mountaineers hit the road this week to take on New Mexico Highlands on Friday and CSU-Pueblo on Saturday.

The Mountaineers are coming off a 19-13 loss to No. 9 Colorado School of Mines on Saturday night at Paul Wright Gym - a dual that saw all 10 matches go the distance with two going to sudden victory. No. 10 Patrick Allis (125 pounds), Cody Fatzinger (133), Jason Hanenberg (141) and Cole Mortensen (157) picked up wins for the Mountaineers against the Orediggers.

The Mountaineers are 21-3 all-time against Friday's opponent NMHU, including 18 duals dating back to the 1983-84 season (the Cowboys discontinued wrestling from 1987-2005). This includes beating the Cowboys 50-0 last season in Gunnison (though the year before was much closer - a 23-16 win for the Mountaineers).

As for Saturday's opponent CSU-Pueblo, the Mountaineers are 14-16-1 all-time against the ThunderWolves, including winning last season 23-16. WCU has won five of the last six duals and nine of the last 11 since CSU-Pueblo returned wrestling in 2008.
