GUNNISON, Colo. – Three Western Colorado University Women's Basketball players scored in double figures on Saturday as the Mountaineers rolled past South Dakota School of Mines & Technology 60-49.

Western (8-3, 4-3 RMAC) opened the game with a 27-point first quarter. It was the highest offensive output by the Mountaineers in a quarter this season.

The Mountaineers took a 34-27 lead into halftime.

In the second half, Western put the Hardrockers away, holding SDSMT (4-7, 1-6 RMAC) to 22 points.

Western's stout defense held SDSMT to 34.6 percent (18-of-52) shooting from the field, forcing 18 turnovers.

The Mountaineers solidified the win outscoring the Hardrockers 16-4 in the final quarter.

Samantha Coleman and
Taytem Coleman each scored in double figures on Saturday. Dalton led all players with 13 points, while
Samantha Coleman added 12 and
Taytem Coleman notched 10 points.

Tammarrah Gothard led all players with 14 rebounds, while also contributing eight points, four steals and two assists.

As a team, Western outrebounded the Rockers 36-22.

The Mountaineers now tied for fifth in the conference standings.
