GUNNISON, Colo. – For the first time in three weeks Western Colorado University wrestling will compete at home. The 19
th-ranked Mountaineers host New Mexico Highlands University at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the first of three home conference duals.

Western (10-4, 2-1 RMAC) enters the weekend having won the last two of three duals, including a 30-13 win over 12
th-ranked Fort Hays State University last Friday.
Â
The Mountaineers have been trouble for teams this season, specifically at the five heavier weights.
Hunter Mullin at 165 pounds,
Brandon Supernaw at 174,
Konnor Schmidt at 184,
Dylan McBride at 197 and
Sammy deSeriere at 285 pounds, have a combined record of 58-27.

Supernaw, ranked first at 174 pounds, has an unblemished 13-0 record on the season, scoring bonus points in 53.85 percent of his matches.

Saturday will be the 24
th meeting between Western and NMHU (4-5, 0-4 RMAC). The Mountaineers have won 20 of those duals, including the last 17. The last Cowboy victory over Western came during the 1983-84 season.

NMHU won their last dual 35-9 over NAIA opponent Simpson University (Calif.). However, the Cowboys all five duals this season against Division II opponents.

Christopher Collins at 197 pounds and Julian Sanchez at 285 pounds lead the Cowboys in wins this season. Collins has a 13-6 record, having won six of his last seven bouts. Wallace has a 15-8 record and has won nine of his last 13 matches.
